Waxing Aftercare Advice
Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly over the next few days.
Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 – 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Keep the waxed area clean, avoid heat and friction during the next 24 – 48 hours.
This means:
No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments.
No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).
No sport, gym work or other exercise.
Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed
hands.
Wear clean, loose fitting clothes.
Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.
Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or
other products to the area, other than those recommended by
your therapist.
To soothe and protect the skin, apply a Tea Tree cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product. To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment and then continuing a couple of times every week, exfoliate the areas you get waxed using a dry brush or exfoliating gloves. We do have a range of ingrown hair products if needed. Check them out on our online shop.
Moisturise every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs.
You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.
You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing.
Please do not shave between your appointments.
To maintain your smooth appearance, I recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks!
Threading Aftercare Advice
Skin can be a little sensitive after your threading appointment, follow the steps for the best aftercare!
Make sure you do not touch the threaded area for the first 12 to 24 hours as it may cause breakouts, rashes or irritation.
Also make sure that the facial area which underwent threading is not exfoliated.
After threading your face, do not apply any perfumed cosmetic products to the area like cleansers or moisturizers until the redness is gone, normally 12-24 hrs.
If you are feeling any sort of discomfort or irritation after threading, then a cold compress can be used on the threaded area to soothe the irritated skin.
Avoid any sort of steam treatment or heat source immediate after threading face.
Use a soothing lotion on the threaded area to provide relief and soothe the irritated skin. It is best to opt for lotions which contain chamomile, tee tree or pure aloe vera.
Avoid direct sunlight for a period of at least 48 hours after threading face without proper UV protection. Refrain from using tanning beds or sunbathing without proper UV protection.
Tinting Aftercare Advice
Okay, so you’ve tinted your lashes and/or brows and you’re good to go, right? Well…kind of. With a little aftercare, you’ll be sporting show-off-able lashes for longer. Here’s what to expect right after your treatment and how to get the best possible results long after you’ve left the salon.
If your brows or lashes look too dark, don’t worry – it will fade. It’s important the colour is a little darker to begin with so the tint lasts. The initial darkness will only last a few days and will get a little closer to the right colour every time you cleanse your face.
Avoid fake tan, if you are going to tan your face you will need to use a barrier on your freshly tinted brows, you can use a layer of Vaseline to cover them. If you get tan on freshly tinted brows the two dyes can react and you will be left with slightly orange or green brows so be careful.
Keep them dry
Avoid getting your lashes or brows wet for 12 hours after having them tinted. Cleanse around the areas with a gentle product instead. Giving the dye longer to settle is a tried and tested way to make your tint last longer.
Avoid oil based cleanser
Check your cleanser/eye makeup remover isn’t oil-based. Oil strips the tint from your lashes/brows, which means you’ll have to return to the salon sooner than you’d like. Swap for gel or cream based cleansers: they’re nice and gentle and will save you time and money in the long run.
HD Brow Aftercare Advice
Keeping your HD Brow looking salon perfect, proper care and maintenance is required.
Follow your stylist’s recommendations and avoid tweezing in-between appointments.
Avoid the use of make-up and facial cleaners other then HD Brows products around the brow area for the next 24 hours.
Avoid prolonged contact with direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam-rooms and swimming pools for 24 hours after the procedure.
Avoid exfoliating and anti ageing products around the brow area for 3 days with side of the treatment.
It is advisable not to use any fake tanning products for the face for around 2 to 3 days either side of the treatment.. If you do wish to use a fake tanning product on your face, apply a barrier to the hair and small area around the brow prior to tanning to prevent dis-colouration of your tint.
You must inform your HD Brow stylist immediately should you experience any prolonged swelling, itch rash, bruising, skin grazing or cuts so that we can advise you on the correct procedure.

Spray Tan Aftercare Advice
Wear dark, loose fitting clothes. Do not replace your bra or tight underwear.
Your tan will develop over the next 1-8 hours (depending on desired shade) so it is vital that you do not shower or have a bath within this time.
Avoid washing your hands or face while tan is developing.
Do not take part in swimming, gym or any activity which may cause perspiration.
When you are ready to wash the tan residue off don’t have the shower too hot, rub very lightly with a soft sponge to remove all the residue, when the water has run clear you can get out, please ensure you have all the residue off before you do.
Do not rub but pat the skin dry after showing or bathing.
The tan is still developing after you have shower so don’t worry if you think the tan looks light, it will develop over the night and you will wake up bronzed and feeling fabulous the next morning!!
Maintain your tan by moisturising EVERYDAY, use an SLS free moisturiser and shower gel if possible. If you need any more advise just give us a call and we will be happy to chat.
